Black Friday?

Yea I know I am not that knowledgeable, so i went to google it.. =p

In the US, Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving~ and often it notes the beginning of Christmas shopping season.

Origins of the name. Why not White Friday? Sounds more beautiful in any way.. =.=
The term actually originated in Philadelphia and the heavy traffic on that day. How the link it to Black? It was an implicitness of stressful and chaotic experience from the 1929 Wall Street stock-market crash, which is the Black Tuesday.

JANUARY 1966 -- "Black Friday" is the name which the Philadelphia Police Department has given to the Friday following Thanksgiving Day. It is not a term of endearment to them. "Black Friday" officially opens the Christmas shopping season in center city, and it usually brings massive traffic jams and over-crowded sidewalks as the downtown stores are mobbed from opening to closing.

Then the police and bus drivers in Philadelphia called the day "Black Friday", when the traffic and shopping is busiest. Because on that day, everywhere will be jammed, stores roads and even escalators, so these police and driver called it Black as "They think in terms of headaches it gives them." haha~

Why am I reading about it?

Around half an hour before this post, a Wal-Mart employee in NY has been trampled to death because of a human "stampede", up to 2,000 people shoppers, while in California, two Hispanic male adults were shot to death while shoppers were rushing into the TOYS "R" US. The latter was like the previous Wal-Mart shooting (about a week ago), where they still couldn't detect any outstanding suspect because of the crowd.

Because it is Black Friday!
At Long Island, NY, around 100 people gathered in front of the Wal-Mart at 9-10 pm the day before, at around 11 pm, there were 2-3 hundreds, and until 5 am in the morning when the employees wanted to open the stores, there were 2,000 shoppers waiting. 5 am.. I'd rather sleep. (Just saying.. who knows I'd be one of the early waiting ones..lol) They just couldn't control those shoppers, who even crashed down/apart the door of Wal-Mart. (keganasan.)

On the other hand, in Palm Desert, California, things are still in mystery. Who shot the two men? Why he/she/they shot them? No idea~

Yup. It is a BLACK Friday now.

Commandos in Mumbai are hunting for the LAST gunman!!
